What is a Live-in Care job?

It varies job to job but in short, it is living with our client and providing round the clock support. For more information head to the ‘Live-in Care section’.

What kind of work does a Live-in Care for the elderly do?

This largely includes general personal care (helping with getting dressed, bathing etc.); domestic house issues (cooking and cleaning etc.) and sometimes giving medication and helping with medical care. Lastly, you may be asked to partake in nursing task including dressing wounds.

I have very little experience – can I still apply for a job?

One of our key values is that personal experience is just as valuable as experience within the sector. If you have the right characteristics and believe in the same values as us then we would love you to apply for a job.

What qualities do I need?

An extract from our ‘work for us’ section shows that we would like someone who is caring, respects independence and dignity, have common sense, takes initiative and has a good sense of humour. All our workers must be fully English speaking to make sure a strong bond can be created through an easy line of communication. For more information head to our ‘work for us’ section.

Do I need to be able to drive?

Yes, clients will have a car and we wish to pursue one of the strengths of Live-in Care which is to ensure that our clients can carry on as normal with their leisure activities and social life.

How many hours?

On average, despite living in the same home as the client you will only be expected to work between 8-10 hours a day. You are also never expected to work through the night and due to employment laws you’re guaranteed 2 hours minimum of offsite time off.

Do Live-in Carers need a police check?

We require all Live-in Carers to complete an online disclosure application form whilst at our offices.

Your needs and preferences are at the forefront of our interests. We believe that a healthy relationship between carer and client is crucial and so we try our best to match based on personality and requirements.

How do you vet your carers?

All our carers go through a face to face interview and must have passed the DBS check. All professional references are followed up.
