What Does The Job Entail?

The job description depends on what level of care is needed but largely is as follows:

  • Companionship,
  • helping with mobility,
  • personal care,
  • overseeing medication,
  • household chores,
  • preparing and cooking food,
  • running errands,
  • other medical tasks.

Training and Development

As stated earlier, Carte Blanche Care is a people business, with both customer and employee satisfaction of the utmost importance to us. We not only want our business to develop and provide a better and better service, but we also wish for our employees to develop themselves through gaining extra qualifications and developing their own careers. Amongst a training course, there are also refresher courses which can be taken and help is always offered back at the branch allowing for lots of support. Our training programme will involve:

  • Customer service –
    You are the face of the company and so providing our clients with a great service is a responsibility that will bestow upon you.
  • The role of the carer – your duties, responsibilities and how to deliver them. We would never send you into someone’s home without you fully understanding the position you hold and what you are employed to do.
  • Our values and beliefs – As you can see above our values and beliefs at Carte Blanche Care are crucial to hold when wishing to fulfil this job.
  • Administering medication – Many patients will need medication, particularly those whom have just come out of hospital
  • Personal care and hygiene – It is as important to us that you are able to look after yourself as well as our client.
  • Abuse and safeguarding against it – as we previously stated our employees’ welfare is of the utmost importance to us.
  • Dementia care – specific training is needed for clients dealing with dementia
  • Cooking and preparing meals – each one of our clients will learn how to cook a nutritious, balanced diet.
  • Health and safety – simple health and safety demonstrations
  • First aid – You are immediate response body so must know how to deal with any problems
